On May 5th 2023 a training activity has taken place where we have elaborated data about SMEs awareness of the impacts of digital technologies on society and environment as well as how they intend the place about Digital Responsibility. We often hear that SMEs are failing to go digital and this is not just a missed opportunity for them but for us all to build & rebuild more sustainable and resilient futures. And digitalisation offering a range of opportunities to SMEs to improve performance. But we have a digital gap that needs to closed. As such, apart from enhancing the awareness, knowledges and skills of SMES, we have worked on the tools and focussed on the problems connected to the digital transformation.
While talking about the digital tools used by SMEs, the topic of digital well-being and digital health have came up. That is, we have discussed about the positive and negative impact on the mental and physical health of each individual.
Another topic to not be missed has been the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in SMEs. We have discussed the benefits it may provide the enterprises as well as the risks.
The closing meeting of the Digital Responsibility for SMEs project was held on Thursday 16 February 2024 in Rome and was attended by two representatives of each partner organisation: Social Academy and Idea Europa from Italy, Kultur und Art from Germany and Youth Horizons from Greece.
First, the representative of Social Academy, Stefano Salvucci, presented the web platform developed as a result of previous activities, showing the SME-specific content, guidelines, good practices and the self-assessment tool.
This served as a final follow-up and future planning moment for the sustainability of the project. The partner organisations evaluated the effectiveness of the project, the achievement of the objectives, the success and visibility of the results and the degree of involvement and empowerment of the main target group. The indicators for the evaluation of the project objectives were reviewed and updated according to the new competences acquired by the partners and the evolution of the dissemination carried out by the individual partners, especially in view of the last evaluation carried out.
Additionally, the closing meeting has marked the end of the project and the planning of future actions to ensure long-term impacts on the target group and stakeholders. It provided a platform for creating team spirit and greater cohesion among project partners, fostering a feeling of being part of a trustworthy and supportive team. A balanced confrontation and sharing of ideas occurred, strengthening relationships, deepening mutual trust, and reinforcing a shared commitment to the project’s success. This collaborative atmosphere not only has enhanced the effectiveness of the current project but has also laid the groundwork for potential future collaborations, ensuring that the bonds forged endured beyond the project’s conclusion.
